Better Edmonton’s founding leader is joining the exodus from his own party.

On Friday morning, Tim Cartmell announced on his social media feeds he was stepping away from the party he co-founded in the recent municipal election.

“After a few weeks of quiet contemplation, I have decided to step back from my role with the Better Edmonton Party,” Cartmell wrote. “A little more than a year ago, a team of dedicated Edmontonians set out on a bold, audacious journey, to form a municipal political party and change the narrative around civic elections in Edmonton.
