Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan has stated that the Rajasthan Royals should have retained Wanindu Hasaranga, but it seems that Ravindra Jadeja’s arrival has altered the equation within the franchise.

Hasaranga had an underwhelming season in IPL 2025. He scored nine runs in 11 matches at a dismal average of 1.8 and picked up 11 wickets, but was expensive at an economy of nine.

Hasaranga has scored 2439 runs in 177 matches, at an average of 17.29, with nine half-centuries to his name. He has also picked 325 wickets in 224 games, at an economy of 6.97.
