After a bye week that built up anticipation for high school football fans throughout the state of Georgia, the GHSA held its first round of the state playoffs on Friday.

Benedictine scored 35 unanswered second-half points as the Cadets cruised to a 42-7 win over visiting East Forsyth in the Class 4A first-round matchup at Memorial Stadium.
