Aliquippa defeated McKeesport 21-12 to win the WPIAL Class 4A football championship on Saturday at Pine-Richland High School.
It's the 21st title for the Quips (9-3), most in WPIAL history, and their fifth under head coach Mike Warfield. Aliquippa was the No. 7 seed in this year's playoffs. Advertisement
The top-seeded Tigers (9-4) were making their second consecutive appearance in the title game after losing to Thomas Jefferson in 2024.
While Aliquippa has the enrollment of a 1A school, the Quips have the skill and pedigree of a much bigger program.
