As candidates begin submitting their nomination papers for the local body elections, the state has once again moved into the heat of election season. Though discussions on seat sharing between the fronts have not fully ended, they are now in the final stage. Local body elections are different because the personal character and relationships of the candidates often influence the results. Those elected to local bodies must work closely with the people. After the election, they must forget political differences and work together. For this reason, they must engage in election campaigning calmly and responsibly. No kind of hate campaign should be encouraged.
