Tri-Valley junior Anna Furman repeated as champion at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association cross country championships, this time leading her squad to the team title as well on Saturday, Nov. 15.
Furman won the girls Class D race, covering 3.1 miles in 18 minutes, 6.9 seconds, almost four seconds ahead of her winning time on the same Queensbury High School course last year. Coincidentally, Violet Bliss, a senior at Pine Plains, also took four seconds off (18:36.9) to finish second to Furman once again.
In the girls team events, Monroe-Woodbury placed third in Class A, Cornwall was fourth in Class B and Rondout Valley fifth in Class D.
