Canadian Olympian and speedskating superstar Catriona Le May Doan has bid farewell to Sport Calgary after serving nine years as president and CEO.
The organization’s board of directors say they are grateful for Le May Doan’s “leadership, vision, and impact during her tenure,” announcing her departure via press release on Friday.
“Since joining Sport Calgary in 2016, Catriona has elevated our city’s sport ecosystem to a national standard of excellence,” said board chair Jeff Booke. “On behalf of the Board and our entire sport community, I want to thank her for advancing access, performance, and partnership in sport across Calgary.”
Sport Calgary says her contributions include implementing the Civid Sport for Life policy, which broke down barriers to sport participation and expanded sport
