A Tewksbury man has been indicted on three types of child pornography charges after authorities accused him of giving someone videos depicting child sexual abuse featuring children who could be as young as 5, the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.

Brian McCarthy, 52, of Tewksbury, was indicted by a federal grand jury on Nov. 4 on one count each of distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography and receipt of child pornography, U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley and Michael J. Krol, special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations in New England, announced Nov. 13, after the federal government reopened from a 43-day shutdown .
