FORTY FORT, Pa. — A woman who worked at a federal credit union in Luzerne County stole $16,247 years ago and claimed the bank had been robbed to cover her tracks, documents newly filed in federal court charge.
Nicole Hilstolsky worked at the WOD Federal Credit Union in Forty Fort. That's where, in October 2018, she looted the credit union's safe and teller drawer and then falsely claimed two unidentified armed bank robbers made off with the cash, authorities alleged in court this week.
More than seven years later, on Friday, federal prosecutors filed a criminal information charging her with theft by a credit union employee.
