MURRAY, Ky. — Occupying a half-filled Roy Stewart Stadium on a sunny Saturday afternoon, the Murray State faithful stood on their feet and rained down cheers as the Racers jogged off the field at halftime.

Belief had set in. Their 0-10 Racers had a 9-7 lead over No. 13 UND after two quarters of play.

That glimmer of hope began to evaporate less than five minutes into the second half. The Fighting Hawks scored on their opening drive of the second and never relinquished the lead, finishing strong for a 35-17 victory over Murray State.
