MANISTEE — The Manistee County Democratic Party is hosting a free community forum on rural healthcare

The event will feature an expert panel discussing recent changes to the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid under the newly passed budget, and how those shifts could impact rural hospitals and clinics.

Panelists include retired nurse Mary Ortiz, Manistee County Medical Care Facility Administrator Joe Coleman, and Centra Wellness COO Brenna Dilts.

Local candidates for state and federal office will also share remarks on potential solutions and the future of rural healthcare.

The rural healthcare event takes place Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. at at West Shore Community College’s downtown Manistee campus.
