A new Hanover Area superintendent, Daniel Malloy, was seated on Thursday, Nov. 13, at the school board’s regular meeting. Malloy succeeds Nathan Barrett, and was sworn in by Magistrate Kyle P. Halesey.

In his opening remarks, Malloy — a Hanover Area alumnus, former teacher, and the outgoing superintendent at Weatherly Area — said he will lead the district by following four key principles: grit, grace, gratitude, and civility.

“If we approach every day, and every challenge, with these four values … We will not only reach our academic goals, but we will build a stronger, healthier, more supportive environment for everyone,” Malloy said.
