OVI: Detroit Road

A resident of a Detroit Road apartment building called the police department at 2:15 a.m. Oct. 31 to report that a man in the lobby was pressing all the apartment buzzers, according to a police department press release.

The caller believed that the man was intoxicated and was trying to get in contact with a woman in the building. When officers arrived, they found the suspect, a 36-year-old Maple Heights man, had left the building, entered a car, and was pulling out of the parking lot.

The driver confirmed that he was there to see his girlfriend. He appeared intoxicated to the investigating officers. He refused to exit the car when ordered by the officers, even after they told him he was under arrest for failure to comply.
