A major drug investigation led to the arrest of a man and the seizure of cash, cocaine, heroin, and synthetic drugs, New York State Police announced on Saturday, Nov. 15.

Johnathan Moore, 48, West Babylon, was taken into custody after Troop L Community Stabilization Unit investigators executed a search warrant at his West Babylon home on Friday, Nov. 14, according to the release.

Moore had been the focus of an ongoing narcotics investigation in the West Babylon area since August 2025, police said.

He was charged with:

  • Felony Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance — crack cocaine.
  • Felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance — cocaine, heroin, stimulant (three counts).
  • Felony Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance — synthetics (three counts).
  • Felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (seven counts).
  • Misdemeanor Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia (two counts).

During the search, investigators seized approximately $150,000 in cash, 540 grams of crack cocaine, 188 grams of powdered cocaine, 120.3 grams of heroin, 8.1 grams of U-47770 (a Schedule I stimulant), and multiple other synthetic powders that tested positive for 2CE, 4-Fluoro-alpha-PVP, and 2CH, police said. Narcotics paraphernalia including scales and packaging materials was also recovered.

The arrest was made by members of the Troop L CSU with assistance from the Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Forensic Investigation Unit, according to the release.
