A 21-year-old man died from his injuries on Saturday afternoon after being shot early Friday morning in Montreal.
The man was one of two people shot on Friday morning, the other victim being a 17-year-old teenager.
Police initially believed that the two incidents were unrelated, but it was later confirmed that they were linked, said Jeanne Drouin, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM).
The teenager is out of danger. The SPVM’s major crimes section is investigating the case, which is being treated as a home invasion.
On Friday, a call was made to 911 at around 1 a.m. regarding a person who had been shot in an apartment on Théodore Street, near Ontario Street, in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.
