The Trump administration is scaling down flight restrictions at 40 airports across the country, reducing required cancellations from 6% to 3% after the government shutdown ended earlier this week.
The tracking website FlightAware was reporting more than 400 cancellations as of 6 a.m. Saturday, when the changes took effect. That's well below the nearly 3,000 reported last Sunday.
The changes provided a glimmer of hope at Logan Airport.
"It was fine," said Karl Verne of Montreal. "There were some other flights that got delayed, of course, but ours was fine.”
Others weren't quite as lucky.
“When we were first coming here to the airport, as we're driving here, we got a notice the flight was delayed, initially a couple of hours," said Rick Caldwell of New Hampshire. "When it was just about
