SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - According to the Bacon County Sheriff’s Office, Saturday afternoon, while inmates were outside for recreation time, an inmate scaled the exterior wall and escaped.
Sheriff’s office staff said, “Due to the quick action of jail staff and law enforcement, the inmate was located and back in custody within 2 hours and 7 minutes.”
The inmate, 41-year-old Emmaunnel Condado Mexicano, was not considered a threat to the public. He was in custody for DUI and Possession of Methamphetamine and was awaiting ICE pick up, the sheriff’s office says.
Sheriff Batten would like to commend the Jail staff, Chief Andre Brinson, and the Alma Police Department, along with Bacon County Sheriff’s staff and GA D.O.C. K9, for the quick response and capture of the inmate.
