A two-year-old boy has died after police say he fell from the 20th floor window of an apartment building in Newark, New Jersey.
Officers were called to the Elizabeth Towers high-rise at 455 Elizabeth Avenue around 7 a.m. Saturday. The two-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, according to county and city officials.
The name of the boy has not been released, but neighbors say his family is from Ghana. Investigators have not shared any additional details about what may have led to the tragedy.
"This is really tough," said neighbor Paul Ankrah. "The window is big, it's really big."
An NBC New York camera captured video of crews covering up an open window on the same floor as the one the boy fell from.
