MANCHESTER — Adam Moessner met with his family on the field at Northeastern High School’s Bobcat Stadium Saturday night, gold medal around his neck, game ball at his hip.

“Somebody told me I get to keep it,” Moessner said.

For scoring the winning goal in overtime of the state final to finish off an unbeaten season? Seems a just reward.

The Bentworth sophomore pounced on a loose touch by Delco Christian’s defense three minutes and 19 seconds into overtime, the only goal in a 1-0 win for the Bearcats in the PIAA Class A final.

There was a brief moment of indecision at the back, with Delco Christian center back Ian Kauffman and goalie Carter Dill not on the same page as a long ball from the back headed toward Kauffman.
