The NFL isn’t taking Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s injury scare lightly. This season, the league has been tightening its rules to better protect players’ safety. Hence, a hefty fine was handed to the Cardinals’ safety Budda Baker, who was involved in the incident.

The Arizona Cardinals player is fined $17,389 for unnecessary roughness . This was during their second battle against the Seahawks this season. As Smith-Njigba attempted to catch a pass, he took a scary hit to the head from Baker. And thus, the Cardinals’ safety took the fine for a hit on a defenseless player. The WR was immediately rushed to check for a concussion. Fortunately, it wasn’t serious, and he was cleared to return for the game.

The injury scare didn’t slow the player down. He caught 5 passes
