Missouri football defensive end Nate Johnson was ejected from the Tigers ’ game against Mississippi State on Saturday, Nov. 15, in Columbia after a first-quarter targeting call.
Johnson was called for a personal foul after making helmet-to-helmet contact with Mississippi State quarterback Blake Shapen in the pocket. The officials called a personal foul with targeting, and after a very short review the call was upheld.
Mizzou is now without two depth pieces at defensive end, as Huntsville, Missouri, native Langden Kitchen was ruled out of the matchup with an undisclosed injury on the pregame availability report.
Missouri’s top edge rushers are Zion Young, Damon Wilson II and Darris Smith, and those three players will now likely make up the bulk of the playing time at the position.
