CHESTNUT HILL – Boston College football came up three points short of ending a nine-game losing streak, registering an unimaginable upset, and upending the power structure in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
No. 14 Georgia Tech averted a catastrophe when placekicker Aidan Birr’s 23-yard field goal attempt sailed through the uprights with 11 seconds remaining to give the Yellow Jackets a 36-34 victory over BC on Saturday night at Alumni Stadium.
Georgia Tech improved to 9-1 and 6-1 in the ACC to remain tied for first with Virginia (9-2, 6-1) with two games remaining, a league contest against Pittsburgh and a non-conference match against Georgia.
BC (1-10, 0-7) will enter its second bye week and closes out the season at Syracuse on Nov. 29.
It was a great effort, I’m very proud of these
