The federal Conservative Party’s Shadow Minister of Health calls it “ridiculous” that more than 13,000 qualified physicians in Canada can’t practice, while millions of Canadians can’t access a family doctor and face long waits for care.

Dan Mazier, MP for Riding Mountain, Manitoba, visited Penticton Tuesday as a special guest of Helena Konanz, MP for Similkameen-South Okanagan-West Kootenay.

The pair hosted a one-hour roundtable at Konanz’s constituency office Wednesday, taking 30 minutes to speak with Okanagan Newspaper Group about the doctor shortage, other healthcare issues, and B.C.’s decriminalization of illicit drugs, which they called a “complete failure.”
