The Dallas Stars will be without one of their top defenceman for an extended period of time.

Blue liner Thomas Harley is out week to week with a lower-body injury, the team announced Saturday ahead of puck drop against the Philadelphia Flyers.

It’s unclear when or how Harley suffered the injury. He did not participate in Saturday’s morning skate and was a game-time decision ahead of the showdown against the Flyers.

He was also a game-time decision ahead of Thursday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens, but he wound up playing 21:25 with an assist in the 7-0 win.

The 24-year-old has been a steady presence on the Stars’ second pairing. He has one goal and nine assists in 18 games while playing an average of 22:59 per night — the second-most among Stars skaters.
