SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Hundreds of families went home with the centerpiece of their Thanksgiving tables on Saturday as the Mosaic Life Church distributed 300 turkeys at the Oak Park Community Center.
“We’re trying to be a light, a blessing especially in this season of gratitude,” said Pastor Jack Gonzalez, picturing “that turkey at the table with a family gathered around and celebrating.”
Community outreach leader Erica Gonzalez said the church wanted to remind neighbors they’re not alone.
“Times are hard, but through God’s love we can provide. People are loved, cared for, and supported by the community and our church family,” she said. “We feel the hurts of the community, and our church came together to make this happen.”
