FARGO — When Saturday’s East Region volleyball championship entered the decisive fifth set, there was no longer a question of which team wanted it more.

That’s because there’s no need to question it. When crosstown rivals West Fargo and West Fargo Sheyenne tangle, each team leaves zero doubt that both are battling for every last point.

The Packers and Mustangs proved that again on Saturday with a region trophy up for grabs. In a back-and-forth slugfest of a fifth, it was No. 4 seed West Fargo prevailing 21-19 to earn a 3-2 East Region tournament title win over No. 2 Sheyenne in front of a raucous capacity crowd at Shanley High School.
