COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus City Schools board members held a listening session Saturday where families voiced their opinions on proposed cuts as the district prepares to slash $50 million from its budget.
Board of Education Vice President Jennifer Adair said no final decisions have been made on what will be cut. She said the goal of the listening sessions is to gauge what matters most to the community before making those decisions.
Barbara Burden, guardian of three teenagers who rely on Columbus City Schools buses to get to school, attended the listening session to urge board members to preserve bus service.
"I came here for a concern for all the children and particularly the teens because they are thinking about discontinuing their bussing," Burden said.
