BOSTON, Mass. (WFSB) - The UConn men’s basketball team built a 20-point second-half lead against seventh-ranked BYU before holding on for a four-point victory on the Celtics’ parquet floor.

Massachusetts native Alex Karaban had a strong performance for the Huskies until freshman AJ Dybantsa, from Brockton, Mass., sparked a thunderous BYU rally. Dybantsa scored 21 points in the second half to get the Cougars within two points of UConn.

UConn’s free throw shooting provided enough breathing room to secure the win. The Huskies were led by Karaban, Silas Demary Jr., and Taris Reed Jr., who each scored 21 points.

UConn shot 60 percent from the floor in the first half but cooled off in the second half. At the same time, BYU started making shots.

Dybantsa finished with a game-high 25 points.
