LANDIS — Anderson “Andy” Pauley scored 18 points as South Rowan cruised to a 55-28 win against Gray Stone in Friday’s basketball opener.
Pauley, a 6-foot-5 freshman, is the son of South head coach Justin Pauley.
Andy will hold some bragging rights, at least for a little while, as his father scored 12 for South coach Bob Parker as a varsity freshman on opening night of the 1996-97 season in a 54-53 victory against East Rowan.
It will be challenging for Andy to stay ahead of his dad’s pace, however, as Justin scored at least 20 in each of the next three games of his freshman season.
