G ilbert residents grappling with skyrocketing water bills got an opportunity to air their concerns in two-way dialogues with council members and town officials in two listening sessions last week.
The town also announced it has hired national engineering consultant Kimley‑Horn and Associates, LLC, to conduct a third-party audit of the town’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) water meters and radios, which many citizens say are incorrectly record their water usage.
At the Nov. 10 listening session, 36 residents expressed concerns ranging from mysterious spikes in water usage in their homes to issues with the new billing portal to the impact of recent water rate hikes. Some even asked for help with understanding their monthly bill.
