MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A woman was rushed to the hospital after being "taken" by her boyfriend in Whitehaven, the Memphis Police Department said.

Just before 3:30 Friday afternoon, police said, officers were sent to a kidnapping call in the area of Maulden Drive in Whitehaven, and were told that a woman had been taken by her boyfriend in a Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Memphis Police said the received information on the Trailblazer and found the woman in Hickory Hill; she was taken to the hospital for treatment, but is expected to recover.

MPD said they then were told that the suspect's car was in the area of Crestridge Road and Perth Cove. Officers said they found the car, but it was empty; they then began searching the area. Police said they found the suspect on Waterview Circle, where he was deta
