The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued a message to Brits that are eligible to receive a £150 discount this winter.

With the Met Office predicting a cold snap for next week, millions of Brits will be contemplating switching on their heating for the first time this winter.

However, with the energy bill rise last month, the thought of paying for heat might be something households want to avoid.

Energy bills have risen due to the new October to December 2025 price cap, which increased by 2% to an average of £1,755 per year for a typical household paying by direct debit.

Some Brits can receive help in paying their bills, though, through the Warm Home Discount Scheme.
