For a tenth month in a row, Canadians decreased visits to the United States compared to the year prior. For the year, it looks like a $5.7 billion loss in tourism profits . Given the troubling reality, many U.S. states are still trying to entice Canadians back in. Among the latest offers is a "Canadian Welcome Pass," launched by Discover Kalispell.
It remains to be seen whether the offers will entice Canadians back in with perks for hotels, restaurants, and more. However, the reality is that not everything is as positive.
There are other threats still taking place, including major perks being abolished for the first time since 1952 .
Here's a closer look at what sparked the rumour, and how it could completely change travel between Canada and the United States.
