Gorka Marquez has paid a gushing tribute to Gemma Atkinson after they admitted to enjoying a number of 'firsts' in their eight-year relationship.

Those who follow the hit BBC One dance show will know that the professional dancer has been part of the line-up since 2016, and it was in 2017 that he met his now-fiancée.

While they didn't compete together, with Gorka paired with singer Alexandra Burke and Gemma with pro dancer Aljaz Skorjanec, the pair hit it off and love blossomed the following year following their appearance on the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour.

It was in 2019 they welcomed their first child, daughter Mia, into the world, followed by their son, Thiago, in 2023 - while also getting engaged in between.
