In hockey circles, they say a crusher who tries to be a rusher soon becomes an usher.
That adage doesn’t apply to Brantford Bulldogs forward Ryder Boulton. While the Huntington, NY product is known for using his hands to protect his teammates, Boulton can also provide an offensive boost when required.
That shot in the arm came Saturday with Brantford looking to shake an overtime loss versus Flint on Friday, after which coach Jay McKee had some pointed words for his club. With the Brampton Steelheads in town, Boulton was the catalyst, providing a goal and assist in a 5-4 triumph at the TD Civic Centre.
