CINCINNATI (WXIX) -A semi tractor-trailer overturned on southbound Interstate 71 near Dana Avenue early Sunday morning, sending two people to the hospital, according to District Fire Chief Philip A. Worsham.

Worsham says that fire crews were called around 12:30 a.m. to 502 I-71 south for a two-vehicle crash involving a semi tractor and a Tesla sedan.

Additional calls revealed the semi was on its side, prompting fire officials to send more resources, including another fire truck, heavy rescue equipment, a safety officer, a medical supervisor, and the fire district chief.

Worsham says that when crews arrived, they found other drivers helping the semi’s two occupants. The Tesla driver was standing beside his totaled vehicle about 100 yards south of the crash.
