Odisha’s Para swimmers made a stellar mark on the first day of the Nationa Para Swimming Championship at the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday.
The para swimmers from the state secured a total of seven medals including three gold, one silver, and three bronze.
In the Men’s S-4 Category 100m freestyle event, Balaram Swain clinched the gold medal with an impressive time of 3:01.98, outperforming Lakhan Singh of Rajasthan, who finished with a time of 3:11.33 to secure the Silver, and Dharmendra Ahirwar of Madhya Pradesh , who took bronze with a time of 3:36.66.
In the Men’s S-5 Category 100m freestyle event, Narahari Behera clinched the gold medal with an impressive time of 1:53.39, outperforming Vishwas Kurpad Satyanarayan of Karnataka , who finished with a time of 2:09.91 to secu
