Michigan’s hockey team has split a Big Ten series for a second straight week.

The second-ranked Wolverines dominated game one Friday night at No. 5 Penn State, scoring three first-period goals en route to a 7-1 victory. On Saturday, they fell behind 3-0 and lost 4-2.

Michigan sophomore forward Will Horcoff, a 2025 first-round pick of the Penguins, continued his scorching start to the season with two more goals during the series. He leads the NCAA with 13 goals this season after netting just four in 18 games as a freshman.

The Wolverines (11-3, 4-2 Big Ten) had six players record multiple points Friday, with freshman forward Adam Valentini leading the way with a goal and two assists. His goal game on the power play early in the third to restore a four-goal cushion after the Nittany Lions
