New Delhi: India skipper Shubman Gill was discharged from a hospital in Kolkata on Sunday following his neck injury in the first Test against South Africa.

Gill suffered a neck sprain while batting on the second day on Saturday that prevented him from taking part in the remainder of the match that India lost by 30 runs.

Gill wasn’t available to bat in the second innings as India were bundled out for 93 in chase of 124 runs at a turning Eden Gardens track.

India now trail 1-0 in the two-match series and Gill’s participation in the second match that begins in Guwahati from November 22 remains doubtful.
