Alexander Bublik earned a six-figure pay cheque for his appearance at the ATP finals without playing a single match.

The world no. 11 missed out on qualification for the season-ending tournament by finishing outside of the Race to Turin top seven.

However, Bublik was named as an alternate having finished as one of the two highest-ranked players who initially didn't qualify.

Lorenzo Musetti was the first alternate and replaced Novak Djokovic, who withdrew with an injury , to make his debut.

Bublik then became the first alternate himself and would have filled in for a player who pulled out before the end of the group stage.
