OMAHA, Neb. —
Omaha police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash after a pedestrian was struck and killed.
It happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday morning near 26th Avenue and Douglas Street.
Officers found a 29-year-old man with critical injuries when they arrived on scene. Omaha Fire Department medics took the man to the Nebraska Medical Center, where he died.
Witnesses on scene told officers the man was walking in the middle of the street. Two cars avoided a collision with the man. Then, a truck hit the pedestrian and fled the scene, driving eastbound.
