Tottenham Hotspur legend Tony Galvin has suffered a stroke, the club have confirmed.

The former winger, who is 69 years old, is recovering following the health scare.

Spurs announced the news in a statement released on their social media channels.

Writing on X, the club said: "Everyone at the club would like to extend their thoughts and best wishes to Tony Galvin, our 1984 UEFA Cup and 1981 & 82 FA Cup winner, who is now recovering following a stroke.

"We’re all behind you, Tony."

Galvin spent nine years with Spurs as a player between 1978 and 1987.

During that time, he won the FA Cup twice before lifting the FA Cup with the club.

The former Republic of Ireland international also had spells with Sheffield Wednesday and Swindon Town.

He is best known for his time at White Hart Lane
