The Bulldogs moved up a spot after its 35-10 victory over then No. 10 Texas, Georgia 's sixth straight win.
Georgia (9-1) plays next against Charlotte (1-9) at 12:45 p.m. ET on the SEC Network on Saturday, Nov. 25. Charlotte has lost seven straight games including 28-7 to UTSA Saturday.
The Bulldogs moved up after No. 4 Alabama slid all the way to No. 10 after its 23-21 loss to Oklahoma.
Georgia won its third in a row against Texas since the Longhorns began SEC play last season.
