LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - November is Epilepsy Awareness Month, and the Kentuckiana Epilepsy Awareness Foundation wants people to know seizures can happen to anyone at any time.
According to the foundation, epilepsy is a medical condition where someone has two or more recurrent unprovoked seizures.
They said there’s many reasons someone could be having a seizure, like missed medications or low blood sugar.
But for someone with epilepsy, there’s no specific, immediate trigger.
They said if this is happening to you or someone you know to visit with a neurologist.
For Jami Block, she had epilepsy as a child. Her son Reid was diagnosed when he was four years old.
Block said she wants people to know epilepsy is more than just seizures.
