Martin Kemp, the Spandau Ballet star, became emotional while discussing with his son Roman Kemp about his father's reaction to his decision to abandon an apprenticeship and pursue a career in music.
The conversation took place on Roman's 'You About?' podcast. Martin, 64, who also has a daughter Harleymoon Kemp with his wife Shirlie, shared the moment when his father, Frank, penned a letter essentially giving him the green light to try his luck in the entertainment industry.
Recounting the tale to his son, Martin detailed: "When I was an apprentice compositor in print, my dad wrote the manager a letter when I wanted to leave to be in a band.
