Michigan barely got past Northwestern on Saturday and that was reflected in the new Associated Press college football poll.

The Wolverines (8-2 overall, 6-1 Big Ten) remained at No. 18 in the AP poll released Sunday (full rankings below).

Michigan had five turnovers and was outscored 13-3 in the fourth quarter of a 24-22 win over the Wildcats at Chicago's Wrigley Field. Michigan needed a last-play 31-yard field goal by Dominic Zvada to prevail.

Michigan has two games remaining – at Maryland and home against Ohio State. USC (8-2, 6-1), another Big Ten team also in the hunt for a playoff spot and one place ahead of UM in the AP rankings last week at No. 17, moved up to No. 16.
