MARTINSBURG - Gov. Patrick Morrisey said new investments in West Virginia’s energy sector will play a major role in driving economic growth in the Eastern Panhandle, citing recent industry announcements he believes position the region for expanded manufacturing and long-term job gains.
During an interview at Friday’s playoff football game between Martinsburg and Parkersburg South, Morrisey said the state is doubling down on boosting natural gas production and expanding related infrastructure. Increased capacity, he said, would help attract businesses that rely on affordable, reliable power.
