BRAINERD — The halftime message from Central Lakes College head coach Krystal Brodeen was clear.

“We needed to show that defensive intensity that we normally show,” Brodeen said.

Trailing 28-22, the Raiders held the Minnesota State Fergus Falls Spartans to three points and 10% shooting in the third quarter. CLC outscored the Spartans 16-3 in the quarter on its way to a 57-45 win Saturday, Nov. 15.

CLC held the Spartans scoreless for the first eight minutes of the second half. Rebounding was also a point of emphasis in the second half. The Spartans doubled up the Raiders on the boards, 16-8, in the first half. CLC outrebounded Fergus Falls 21-16 in the second half.
