Every day, including Saturdays and Sundays, Felicity Goodwin visits her local hole-in-the-wall coffee shop. Her skim latte is ready for her when she arrives at Blackbird Espresso in Camp Hill.
But her daily routine is not just about the much-needed, early morning caffeine hit.
“Yes, they do really good coffee … but there’s a little community there. You start to recognise everyone else who needs coffee at 6.30am,” the 41-year-old said.
The baristas know her by name, as well as her coffee order and those of her friends.
Her morning coffee routine has become more important since she started working from home following the pandemic.
“I’ve only spoken to one other person today, and that was my barista,” said Goodwin, who manages electronic medical records.
