As Delhi-NCR grapples with a continued spell of hazardous air quality, doctors across specialties are reporting a surge in complaints of fatigue, lethargy, poor sleep and overall drop in energy levels.
Health experts warn that escalating pollution levels are not only harming the lungs but also draining the body’s ability to function optimally.
Over the last several weeks, almost all areas in Delhi and adjoining areas have been registering air quality index (AQI) levels ranging from ‘poor’ to ‘hazardous’ category with chief pollutants – PM2.5 and PM10 – reaching over 100 times the ‘safe limits’ set by the World Health Organisation.
